SUP & Windsurfing Classes
Grand Canal Dock, Dublin
Grand Canal Dock, Dublin
This 2 hour group class is the perfect introduction to paddleboarding for anyone who has no experience or has not done a lesson before. During this flat water you will take to the tranquil waters of the Grand Canal Dock to learn fundamental SUP techniques.
With an introduction to stand up paddleboarding class under your belt you are ready to take to more open water ways under the guidance of one of our experienced instructors. During this open water class we will expand on and improve the techniques learnt in our flat water introduction class and share the knowledge needed for safe coastal paddling.
During the lesson the instructor will talk to you about basic safety and show you how to rig your gear, get going on the board, balance/counterbalance, turn around and come back safely to the starting point. The perfect introduction to get into the sport.
We start teaching children from age 8 upwards and the activity is perfect for children that can swim (with a buoyancy aid on). No other experience is required. We organise a lot of school outings for 5th and 6th classes and develop school programmes over multiple weeks for transition year groups.
Our team of instructors have extensive experience working with children with special needs and bringing them out on the water. If a child or children in your class have special needs and you are wondering whether they would be able to participate in the activities, send us an email with your enquiry or give us a call on 01-6683945 and we are happy to help.
For the half day event you need to plan 3 hours (half an hour for check-in and to get changed beforehand and another half an hour afterwards to get ready to leave. For the full day event you plan to be with us for 5 hours.
Full Day tours usually have an arrival time of 9.30 or 10am. Half Day Tours can run either in the morning with a similar arrival time or in the afternoon starting around lunchtime. We can plan this around your preference.
We have separate boys and girls changing rooms, toilets and showers on site. We also have lockers for valuables, but as we don’t take any responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items, we recommend not to bring anything of value on your trip with us.
Participants needs: swimwear, a towel and an old pair of runners that they don’t mind getting wet.
We will provide them with wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets.
Yes, all participants have to sign a waiver before they can go on a session with us. We offer a digital waiver that can be shared with parents by Whatsapp/Email or we can send you a pdf of the waiver to print out for the parents. Children without a waiver cannot participate in the activities. Here is a link to the text of the waiver (link to ts and cs page) (or better still we attach the pdf here and let them download it if they wish)
