Only
5 minutes from the City Centre, all our courses take place on 42 acres
of clean fresh water in the Grand Canal basin [location], and are certified by
the Irish Sailing Association.
All you need to bring are your swimming togs, a towel and some old runners
or booties (which we sell in our shop!). We provide you with wetsuits
to keep you warm in the water, and buoyancy aids for your comfort and
safety, so you don’t even need to be a great swimmer!
We also have changing facilities on the waterside for both male and
female participants. These changing rooms are fitted with showers, so
don’t forget the shampoo!
Our team of qualified and experienced instructors are here to make your
time here both highly enjoyable and safe. Complemented by our fleet
of rescue boats it makes the basin the ideal environment for Watersports!

Welcome
to windsurfing, the worlds best watersport!
Windsurfing is a unique sport - exciting,
colourful and challenging. It really
has something for everyone, and the good
news is that there has never been a
better time to start. The advent of
the modern widestyle boards and lighter
more controllable rigs has meant that
the image of a windsurfer spending more
time swimming than sailing is now a
thing of the past! Of course you will
still fall in from time to time, but
that's all part of the fun (honestly)!!!
And even if you do fall in the water,
modern advances in wetsuits mean that
you don't have to feel the cold - even
in the depths of winter (ish!).
Surfdock's
Watersports center and shop can cater
for all your windsurfing needs.
We offer courses on modern widestyle
boards in an ideal beginner's environment,
and once you've started there'll be
no stopping you ! We also have links
to advanced courses to keep you progressing
and learning in the environs of Malahide
Estuary.
Ideal for people wanting to start windsurfing,
this course is run over 4 x 3 hour sessions,
covering all introductory aspects of
the sport. Using the I.S.A. "GO WINDSURFING!"
Scheme.
The cost is: € 225
Times of courses can be made to suit
your schedule (we will link your course
with other beginners at suitable times).

Get fit and have fun!
SUP or Stand Up Paddle Boarding is the great new sport taking the world by storm, and Surfdock has been involved from the very start.
It's easy to learn, a great way to keep fit, and really good fun. You don't need wind or waves to enjoy SUPing (though you can add a windsurf rig to most SUP boards) - even just crusing on flat water - SUP will work all the core muscle groups & improve your balance.
In small waves, SUP is the ideal introduction to Surfing - these boards can catch literally the smallest of swells. They are also great for coastal 'down-winders', where cruising along the coast using the small chop and wind behind your back is a great alternative workout, and a very peaceful way to enjoy everything the ocean has to offer.
If you would like to try out SUPing, you can book a taster session on one of our boards in Surfdock, or you can join us for a full course with our fully qualified SUP instructors.
The full course will introduce you all the basics in Surfdock on flat water, before venturing to the coast to catch your first waves, and explore the coastline on a downwinder!
