We are now recruiting for the 2019 season and are looking for part-time and full-time watersports instructors to join our team.

The Role:

As watersports instructor at Surfdock you will be delivering sessions to our customers for kids birthday parties, school tours, hen/stag parties, corporate and team events as well as lessons in paddleboarding, kayaking and windsurfing (depending on your qualifications).

From June to August we also run a watersports summer camp from Monday to Friday for children from 8-16 years.

We offer two different types of roles – part-time and full-time from April/May until September.

Successful candidates have to be available to work weekends and evenings for the duration of our season.

What we are looking for in a candidate:

You need to be an instructor in at least one of the watersports we teach (paddleboarding, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking).

Your first aid certificate (Rec 3 or higher) has to be in date.

You have completed the Safeguarding 1 Child Protection Module.

Ideally you have a powerboat certificate or are willing to obtain one before the season starts.

You have a passion for teaching and working with children as well as adults. Previous experience working with children, on summer camps and leading groups are an advantage.

All our sessions are structured to be fun for the participants, so in the sport you teach you will be responsible for the session plan including the games you want to play, challenges you want to give the participants etc.

You are confident being in charge of a group of customers of any age.

You are available to work for the summer from April until September.

All successful candidates will be garda vetted.

What we offer:

We have been running watersports in the Grand Canal Dock for over 27 years and pride ourselves in excellent customer service and working conditions for our staff.

We offer competitive salaries and guaranteed hours (corresponding to your full-time or part-time contract).

We have a large team of instructors working together and the diverse nature of our sessions offer successful candidates the opportunity to gain extensive experience in delivering a variety of sessions in a host of different sports.

Full company and location specific training will be provided at the start of the contract.

If you are interested, please send your CV to getajob@surfdock.ie. Please include information on any relevant qualifications, certificates etc. Please also include whether you would be looking for full-time or part-time work and what your availability is like from April to September 2019.
